I suggest it is only really, really bad.
Two statewide electoral wins. A loss of only two seats in the HOD, and three GOP losses can be ascribed to extreme or bad candidates and/or badly run campaigns. I imagine that in 2007 the GOP will be able to run strong campaigns to reclaim the 32nd, the 67th and the 68th...if in fact the 68th does not revert after the recount.
A horrible night was election day in 1981 and 1985. THOSE were horrible nights of statewide sweeps and losing house seats. This ain't nothing...
