Netherlands: Three People Wed One Another

Once again, the Dutch remain on the forefront of the movement to destroy the institution of marriage. The direction we all predicted gay marriage would inevitably lead manifested itself this past week in the Nethlerlands where 3 people wed one another, one man and two woman. They are trying to parade it as something other than polygamy as if that's a dirty word or something and if they call it something different, it will be different.

Everyone knows that if gay marriage can be justified, anything can be justified...including the absence of all moral inhibitions. It's sad to see a nation that served as a haven to the Pilgrims for a time when religious liberty was not widespread in Europe, that produced the powerful legacy of William the Silent, and Abraham Kuyper become the leader in the legalization and regulation of prostitution, the legalization of drugs, the legalization of gay marriage, euthanasia, and now this.

I'm gonna marry me a dog before the week is out. Once I do that, nobody will ever be able to marry again. And then my evil plot will be complete.

The picture would make a great caption contest entry over at Chad's site. Wait until Vehrs exhausts himself before sending it on.

Unfortunately slippery slope arguments that conservatives have been making on this issue for some time are justified when we see this sort of story. Slippery slope arguments are not by definition invalid.

Honestly, as long as there is no element of fraud or coersion involved, and those involved are consenting adults (ugh, the man looked fossilized, and the women looked like 30s or later), I don't believe there are any logical arguments to prove it's any more of a threat to the institution of marriage than divorce, which occurs in abundance in our own nation. Also, I agree with the two anonymous posters.

I'm torn. As a Conservative, I object to calling this monstrosity "marriage," though there is at least historical precedent for polygamy.

But as a man, I object to this chubby chaser.
