Well, in a way, that's kinda my point. In a free, political society, we should be willing to live or die (figuratively speaking, of course) on and for what we believe. Otherwise, you end up with government by grey men and women, those whose best qualification is their failure ever to take a principled position. And those who elevate them (and who were elected to pursue an agenda) end up flailing about in the dark. David Souter ring a bell?
