Jim Hyland to challenge Steve Shannon

I just got James Parmalee's monthly email, and discovered a GA race I didn't know about.

Jim Hyland-(R) will be challenging Steve Shannon-(D) for the 35th District (Vienna).

Mr. Hyland is of counsel at DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Carey, and his firm bio is actually more extensive than his campaign bio.

Shannon was elected in 2003, and the district is highly transient and balanced politically. Good luck Jim!!

UPDATE
There are two other likely Republican candidates for this seat
* Arthur Purves, the President of the Fairfax Country Taxpayers Alliance
* Ed Robinson, a philanthropy counselor. This means access to big bucks, and Robinson has raised $55K.

Jim's website is at http://www.jimhyland.com. He will be having a Campaign Kickoff breakfast on March 19 in Vienna, VA. I am looking forward to getting involved in his campaign. We need to take this seat back for the GOP!

I understand that Arthur Purves, the President of the Fairfax Country Taxpayers Alliance, will also enter this race.
